In May of 1996, Jon retired from Delta Airlines. At his hanger/retirement party
his wife, Dee, presented him with a 1956 Chevy. The car was restored to it's
original condition in 1986 by Dean Kirkpartick of Greenville, S.C.. It was kept
hidden from Jon for a year prior to his retirement. Dee had been looking for a
'56 chevy of the same color for a long time since Jon had owned one like it when
they were dating in 1959. The Hansens were not aware of the great groups of
Classic Car people until meeting Dana Kitchens at a show at Perimeter Mall and
being led to the Dixie Classic Chevy Club. We have enjoyed so many great
gatherings with a wonderful group of Chevy Lovers over the last three years.
