Old Business:
Plans for cruise nights were discussed.
It was suggested that we should be looking for another host site for the monthly cruise nights in light of the construction at the current location. It was reported that the manager of Bed, Bath & Beyond has complained that we don't bring him any business, but do use his restrooms quite a bit. It was decided to have the cruise night at the normal location this month, and then look for other venues.
Jon Hansen has volunteered to chair our search committee and check out some new locations. If anyone has suggestions, they are welcome.
Several places were suggested, and the parking area by the Big Chicken was suggested as a possible solution.
Jon & Dee Hansen will be in charge of the cruise night on 5/3/03.
Club picnic or trip in June - Jim Brown sent a message via Bob Bryant that the date for our outing will be Saturday, June 21, 2003.
The plans are to meet at the Cracker Barrel on Chastain Road at 8:00am and drive to the Fina Station for breakfast. Then we'll continue to Amicolola Falls for a picnic lunch. Each family will provide their own lunch. After lunch, we will cruise to Dahlonega for ice cream before heading home for the day.
(As a side note, it had been discussed to have the trip on 6/14/03 but was moved to the 21st so a "certain member" could be back from her travels of Europe and Russia :-) !
New Business:
Cruise night for the month of May is this Saturday, May 3, 2003.
Pigeon Forge was mentioned and there were several people that stated they will be attending.
The raffle prizes were provided by Jon & Dee Hansen. Our lucky winners were: Wayne Foshee, who won a Dip and brush for his car, and Becky Brown, who won a plant planter - congratulations!
David Homoki shared information on a car show that will happen in September. It is called the 6th Annual Restored Car, Truck and Bike Show - 2003. It will take place on September 27, 2003 from 8am to 4pm in Woodstock, Ga.
John and C.J. Crewshaw will provide the June raffle prizes and Bill & Becky Brown will be in charge of the Cruise night in June.
Our next meeting will be June 5, 2003 and the cruise night will be June 7, 2003.
Business meeting adjourned at @8:03pm.

The May Cruise Night was a great success. The Cruise Cars were ask to move down the parking lot because of the construction. Our new location is close to NTW in the same mall parking lot. The Club owes a big thank you to Jon Hansen. By moving the Cruise location we lost access to our A/C outlet. Jon was kind enough to furnish a generator so the music man could have power. The 50/50 raffle contributed after expenses about $30 or so dollars to the treasury. The owners of a restaurant on Hwy 92 approach Jon and I about moving to their location for Cruise Night. Jon and I talked about visiting the site on a Saturday night ...just to check it out. Jon is our Cruise Night Locator so we will wait to hear form Jon. Unless the Club hears different from the Mall Authorities, the June Cruise Night is scheduled for the same location. The club membership attendance for the May Cruise Night was great. There were DCCC members and cars everywhere ....... good for the Club.
