MINUTES

Minutes from April 4, 2002 for the Dixie Classic Chevy Club

The meeting was brought to order by our President, Bill Soyak at 7:30 p.m.

Old Business included the Christmas party for the year 2002. The Christmas party will be held at the usual place on Dallas Hwy. & Hwy. 41. The date is December 7, 2002. Bill Soyak is still working on the T-shirts for this year.

New Business:

Tom Means gave the treasury report. The balance was $1650. This was Tom Means last report, he will be away for the next 3 months. Therese Caruso will be handling the treasury part.

2 new members were welcomed to our club tonight. Dan and Page Walden. They were Marines and are now retired.

Cruise night was discussed. Our first Cruise Night of the season will be held Saturday April 6, 2002 at the Bed, Bath, & Beyond shopping center on Barret Pkwy. There are restaurants surrounding it including: Sorrentinos, Outback Steakhouse, Chick-fil-a, and others that are in walking distance. From Hobbytown U.S.A, Bill Murry, is our main sponsor for this. It was decided that we buy a generator for the Cruise Nights for power. Gary Caruso will be taking responsibility for it and will be bringing it to all the Cruise Nights for the season. It should cost around $450 for the generator. There is help needed for the Cruise Nights. Volunteers are needed to help clean up. Bill Soyak is looking for a volunteer to keep in contact with the storeowners in the shopping center. It would be appreciated if someone will help with this. If you can, please contact Bill Soyak. Flyer promotions were discussed. David Homoki has volunteered his son into making a flyer to hand out at other Cruise Nights that our members attend.

There are 2 picnics held each year with the club. One is for the club and then there is the one for Calvary Children's Home held on Halloween each year. The club's picnic was discussed at the meeting. The Picnic will be on May 11th at 10:00 a.m. at Riverside picnic area of Lake Allatoona. It is located off of Hwy. 20 between 75 and Canton. Directions can be found at the top of THIS page. The club will supply hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, condiments and paper products. Bring drinks (no alcohol} and a dish to share.

Pigeon Forge is coming up. On May 17th - 19th the car club will be attending the Pigeon Forge car show. There will be 2 groups going up, one Thursday one Friday. The host Hotel is full. There are many other hotels around the locations that you can get reservations in.

Other dates discussed:
September 20 will be the Nashville show.

Jim once again won the raffle just like last month and the month before. It is greatly appreciated for some ideas on what to put in the newsletter. Call Gary or Bill for any suggestions.

The next meeting is on May 2 at Ryan's Buffet on Canton Rd.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m. by Bill Soyak
