FEBRUARY 2003 |
IMPORTANT CLUB DATES:
February 6: Supper/Meeting at Ryan’s
MINUTES of the January 2nd DCCC meeting
The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm.
John Lloyd was introduced as a visitor and he told us about his new purchase...a 55
Chevy that has writing in English and French inside of it. We hope he joins our club.
Reading of the minutes from last month was waived.
Treasurer's report - $1,016.57 (including $175 collected for 2003 dues).
Old business:
The Mordts were presented their lifetime membership certificate on the Monday
before Christmas (Dec. 23rd). While there, Bob Bryant was shown some of the
world famous Civil War gun collection. The Mordts are doing alright and would
love visits or calls from time to time. Mornings are the best time and please call in
advance before you visit, due to health reasons.
Moultrie Swap Meet: It will be held on Friday, January 31, 2003 through Sunday,
February 2, 2003. As always, Bill Brown has reserved 6 rooms at the Executive Inns
(formally Holiday Inn) and if you are interested in one of the rooms, please contact
him ASAP or he will let some of the room reservations go.
Club outing to Varsity: Bob Bryant has suggested that the club go to the Varsity on
the last Sunday in March, leaving Marietta @ 1:30pm and driving to the Varsity as a
group outing. He suggested we consider this option and vote at the February meeting.
There was some discussion on doing other activities throughout the year besides the
Calvary Picnic and the Christmas Party to get more members involved. Any
suggestions would be appreciated and can be passed on to Bill Brown or Bob Bryant.
Dee & John Hanson will be in charge of the Christmas party this coming year.
DUES for the 2003 year are due now...if you haven't paid by the March meeting,
you will NO longer receive a newsletter. Dues are $25.00 and will be collected at the
February meeting also.
WE STILL NEED A CRUISE DIRECTOR!!!!!
Bill will look into finding a D.J. for the cruise nights as it was decided that we do
not want to wait till it's too late to get anyone.
Dee Hanson won the raffle prize, which was provided by Ed Brown.
February's raffle prize will be provided by Bill & Becky Brown.
The meeting adjourned at 8:01pm.
Our next meeting is February 6, 2003.
NEEDED: Raffle Contributors for: August and September
Cruise Night Helpers for: July and September

John Loyd visited us at our January meeting. John recently purchased a '55 Chevy that has a very interesting feature: a French cowl identification tag. Read the info John provided below and let us know if you have an explanation.
I just purchased a 1955 Chevy 2 Door Hardtop. The car has two cowl identification tags. The one on the passenger side is the usual GM tag. The one on the driver's side is GM of FRANCE. Both are described below. Has anyone seen this before or could give me an explanation? Any help would be appreciated.
